Modeling guidelines

Post  Gloat on Tue Dec 23, 2008 11:26 am

Basic guidelines

You CANNOT add your ships to OUR FLEET. New Topics should only be started by administrators.

The OUR FLEET section of the forum isn't locked - you can share ideas and post on models to tell us what you think. You MUST NOT start new topics - as mentioned above

Should you PM an admin informing them that you dont like a fleet ship, expect to recive a warning. Should you do this twice, a ban should be given to you. You must not disrupt admins with silly messages like this

Do not post hate messages on different modeling pogramme boards, all models are exepted.

Do not plan mutinius action if your model is not chosen for finals. You can always try again next month (see more below)

Certain requirements

The ship should be, measured 76-85 inches for a cruise ship in widith and optional in lengh. DON'T MAKE THE SHIP TOO LONG AND UNREAL FOR THE WIDTH Should you design a smaller ship, use your logic and make a width corresponding to the cruise ship width

Judges

Judges are people randomly chosen from the applications which have been provided in the Staff Launge. There is one judge for each of the 3d modeling pogram contestantants. This judge has a judgeing period of 2 months. A judge must, on the sixth of every month, pick two models they think is the best. The modelers for these two models have a month to make another one and post it to the finalists board for inspection on the next 6th of June from the same Judge. Whoever wins the finals will have their ship added to the OUR FLEET section. Remember, you can only judge the finals on the sixth of the month, and the winner of the finals next month, after then you will not be expected to be able to judge untill four months later

Complaints

So, you are not happy about judgeing? Please select one of the options below:

A personal complaint should be made to the judge, or to an admin or moderator.

Always keep your model up, keep updating it, and hope for a place as a finalist next month!

Go to the Staff launge and enter a complaint

DO NOT: Ever create a topic harrasing a judge anywhere...

DO NOT: If you are posting a complaint in public, do NOT use bad language

DO: Always include as much information as you can about why you are complaining and as less bad words and rudeness as possible.

DO: Inform, either the judge (by PM) or in a public complaint give reasons and how judging can be much better. Give Advice.

REMEMBER: If you go to the Staff launge boards and make a public complaint, you must be aware that other people will be reading it - not just the judge

Q: Why do we offer public complaints in the GMS board?

A: We also offer moderator complaints. Posting complaints in public tells the judge how to improve and what to remember when he judges another time, he/she can get advice from you as from other ways of complaining. What is better about the complaints board is that other members can disagree and post different improvememtns, or members can agree, making your complaint a strong one, a MUST BE FOLLOWED one for a judge. It also gives advice for future judges.

Q: Why can't admins just take our models and dump them in OUR FLEET?

A: THat would be boring... soon we will be getting tiny rowboats and pointless models in there. OUR FLEET is the final copy of our ships - So messing that up should be taken as a very serious matter. By allowing others to judge you will give you personal information about what this judge thinks about your models. It will also help us to work as a community - You can see what needs to be improved.

Avatar award

Once you win a competition, you win a bronze award
Win 2 competitions and you get a silver
win three, you get a gold
win a further four, you get a titanium one.

ON NO ACCOUNT, should these avatars find their spots on people who dont deserve them. One who does steal a copy of these avatars will find themselves in trouble. VERY SERIOUS TROUBLE.

An admin will PM you an avatar once you win one.

You don't have to wear one when you win it. You can wear it as a token
